Today’s warm-up is my take on 1 of my favorite heroes, Static Shock. When I was a kid I loved Batman, Spider-man, and lots of others but when Static was introduced to me it felt like something new. I admired all the other heroes but Static was the first hero I felt like I could relate to.

I think that’s something that excites me about the world we live in today. Not the creation of one specific type of character but the fact that fiction seems to be growing more diverse every day; maybe not as fast as one would hope but there is growth. I know what it meant to me to see a character I could relate to, and the thought of that for my children and all other children is a beautiful thing.
